“Within a short space of time in a practical, interactive workshop session as part of a PSASE talk, Jackie demonstrated how a fresh approach to the words you use to describe your business in a strapline can result in that ‘penny dropping’ moment…

This is very much a personal recommendation; it worked for me!

Jackie specialises in writing without waffle, and can prove it from the stage. If you are looking for a speaker with a difference, where your audience will learn a different way of thinking about the words they use in their businesses, book Jackie.”

Copywriting for Journalists

“This course was crammed with content and really boosted my confidence as a copywriter.”

“Highest ever!”

About an ad written by a recruitment agency who’d been on our Copywriting for Recruiters course. They were recruiting for a recruiter:

“The new advert we released had the highest number of applications and views EVER! We had the usual foreign contingent applicants but also three experienced recruiters [locally]. We also had a recruiter compliment us too! So thank you!”

What the recruiters say

Here are some of the comments from a course I ran last week with Mitch Sullivan, training recruiters how to write compelling recruitment ads:

“Jackie and Mitch are fantastic professionals that, combined, manage to give a brilliant and thorough crash course in recruitment ad writing. It helps that they’re very nice people too!”

“As a new company, we can start to implement what has been learned today from the word ‘go’, and help us to be different from the rest.”

“Professionals who know their stuff. Friendly trainers who listen and encourage everyone to take part. I came to the course with no experience of writing for recruitment, but left quite happy to attempt a few.”

“I’m no master, but it’s the start I needed before setting up our perm division. [The most useful part of the course was] the message that ‘there are no rules’ and the laughable nature of why new recruiters, myself included, think there are.”

“I came thinking I was a good ad writer – I’ve left knowing I had so much to learn, and Jackie and Mitch have just set me off on that path. Excellent advice and really actionable outcomes. I’m excited to put it into practice.”

“The course gave a really good insight into the world of creative writing. I would recommend this course to colleagues. I will be utilising these techniques as much as possible from now on.”

“Useful to highlight the common clichéd traps we all fall into and how to think differently.”

Average rating 4.4 out of 5

At the start of the course, 6 delegates reported they were ‘not very’ confident about writing ads, 1 was ‘reasonably’ confident, and 1 was ‘very’ confident but later admitted that was erroneous.

After the course, 1 remained ‘not very’ confident because she had ‘no experience at all’. 5 delegates said they were ‘reasonably’ confident, 2 were ‘very’ confident.

Compelling Copywriting

Here is the feedback from a bespoke in-house course I ran yesterday for a corporate comms team.

  • 3 delegates went from ‘not very’ confident to ‘reasonably’ confident about copywriting
  • 5 delegates went from ‘reasonably’ confident to ‘very’ confident
  • 2 delegates remained ‘reasonably’ confident
  • 1 started as ‘reasonably’ confident and said ‘Slightly concerned my confidence was misplaced!’

All attendees who gave a score rated the course with 4 or 5 stars (out of 5).

Comments included:

“The team really enjoyed the training session you ran. They’re a fussy bunch, but everyone I’ve spoken to so far has been full of praise for your commonsense approach and has said the content of the course was really useful to them. Great job!”

“I enjoyed the day and learned a lot.”

“Great practical course, delivered in a very friendly manner.”

“The material presented in the takeaway booklet is very useful and I will definitely use it.”
